To the Prosecutor of ICC… Step Down, Please…

To the Prosecutor of ICC… Step Down Please…

Again, to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.

Dear Mr. Karim Khan,

Good morning, sir, again. Forgive me this time, but I am not in such a mood to open with wishing you a good breakfast, or whatever other expressions of courtesy you might like to hear. Like millions of people around the world, I have just witnessed flying shreds and piling bodies from another massacre committed by the IDF, commanded by Yoav Galant, by the authority of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Another massacre in Gaza... were more than 40 innocent civilians lost their lives up to the moment of writing this letter. The only crime they had committed was standing and waiting to receive humanitarian aids they desperately needed to survive with their children and family members for a few more days.

Yet, the IDF had no mercy on a young or old of them, and the IDF Apache helicopters fired their machine guns to claim their lives with no justification. And regardless ignoring the sanctity of the month of Ramadan, they did not even have the minimum respect for the most basic humanitarian laws of which you are supposed to be their first defender and the spokesman of every victim of violating them.

Sir... In my previous letter dated March 3rd , 2024, I appealed to you to take an action to protect the innocent children of Gaza, but until this moment, the noise of silence is still all we hear from you; even though it seems that it has recently become a habit for IDF criminals to assassinate innocent people queuing up to get their minimum humans needs under a tight siege and using of starvation as a military weapon against more than two million civilians in the Gaza Strip.

This time, I will try to be brief... Sir, your silence is considered complicity with these criminals, approval of their actions, and a protection for them from facing the legal consequences of their crimes.

If your problem is the incompetence of your investigators or their inability to realize that the IDF is committing war crimes and carrying out a genocide plan, the testimonies of the UN and WHO may help you to realize that fact. But if you have a problem with believing the UN, that is okay. I can suggest to you here, as a start, that you take a look at the archives of Al Jazeera and the Middle East Eye... Or do you suddenly have a problem trusting the reports of the mainstream media, as I always did! It is okay again, you can browse the archives of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor...

Why did you start showing allergy symptoms once I mentioned the human rights organizations! Again, it is OK… Why not hear people's testimonies directly? Why do not you take a fast look at social media accounts of many human rights activists in Gaza and around the world, such as the Palestinian journalist Maha Husseini, the Polish activist Magdalena Bartoszek, the Indian activists Khatija Banu and Mohammed Umair; or maybe you can check the accounts of Dr. Anastasia Maria Loupis from Denemark, Asmaa Khalil Al-Karshef from Egypt, Khaled Safi from Palestine, Fadila Mouhoul from Netherlands, Burak Delibas from Turkey, Javeria Sabir Akhtar from Pakistan and hundreds and hundreds more; and I can keep counting the names and countries for you until you finish your dinner this evening sir.

You may even issue an order to force those in charge of managing social media networks to lift the ban on a number of prominent names such as Shaun King among many others, whose accounts were banned either fully or partially, just because they reported the facts of the atrocities occurring in Gaza by the IDF. Considering that this banning is a form of complicity in these crimes and an obstruction of justice.

Sir, we are not naive, and we fully understand that we do not live in an ideal world, and I am fully capable of understanding that sometimes we may want to do the right thing, but we are unable to do so, for whatever reason... So, sir, if you have an excuse for not being able to make a decision, I will accept that, and I will not ask you to clarify it. However, the legal customs have established since ancient times that whenever someone with legal jurisdiction becomes in a situation where he feels unable to take a neutral position and adhere to the spirit of the law in order to achieve justice, he should step aside due to the conflicts of interest.

Therefore, my message today to you, sir, is that if you are not actually complicit in this heinous crime committed by the IDF in Gaza, then you must immediately make a decision to indict Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Galant and issue an arrest warrant. If you cannot do that, then you must step down and resign from the office as the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.

You are a Muslim man, sir… You know that the weakest form of faith is the rejection in the heart and the refraining from participating in the crime, even by silent approval. Your resignation is that rejection needed to clear your name before God on that day when you will be asked about the children of Gaza. Do it and the whole world will then understand your silent message correctly; and we all, who seek justice for the children of Gaza, will be proud of your decision.
